Motivation

Why it’s so often just a dream?

In newspapers, television and the growing media diversity, we repeatedly meet with reports of people who have a completely different way of life than the masses of the people around us. People who travel around the world set up aid organisations, or rebuild a farm so it is ecological.
We are deeply impressed … and still, go on exactly where we left off. In some cases, however, the reports of other life models affect our emotions. What we heard has met our desire…
… we start dreaming … and finally, go on exactly where we left off.

Perseverance

If you fail, you often doubt yourself. Not smart or talented enough – so is usually your own assessment.
However, according to US studies, a quite different factor has far greater impact on reaching goals than intelligence or talent. What counts most is perseverance.

Blade Ventures

Two men, four inline skates, six months and 7000 kilometres

This is the plan of Marian and Santiago from Halle (Saale). They want to travel through South America … on skates … in this way an unprecedented project.

Kungsleden: Trekking Winter (Travel Journal)

8 pm Airport Tegel

The first part of on our way to Sweden is done: we are on the train to Berlin central station. Ok… we accidentally took the wrong bus so we drove all the way through Berlin in the wrong direction. But anyway we made it finally.

Kungsleden: Trekking Winter

The snow is crunching under the snowshoes. Nothing else: no noise penetrates the silent winter landscape. The snow sparkles in the sun and we are hiking in the middle of it. There is no one around but us from horizon to horizon.

Saxon Switzerland: Trekking Summer

Finally, it is time – we are on a hiking trip again. Let’s take our backpacks and make sure the GPS has the right information. ;)

Chimborazo National Park: Trekking Summer (Travel Journal)

We take the bus from Guayaquil to Guaranda, our starting point. The drive takes about 4 hours. Already 1 hour after departure I need a toilet. I go to the driver. He doesn´t speak any English or German…I start a very emotional spectacle to show him how urgent it is.

Chimborazo National Park: Trekking Summer

My pulse is racing as I snap for air. Every inch of my body hurts. We are at 4,308 meters above the sea level. I´ve never been in such an altitude before! We stop hiking and taking a break. My pulse calms down and I´m able to take a deep breath.

E4: Trekking Winter

I’m covered in snow up to my hips. Every step again I break into the meter-high snow cover. Why didn’t I bring the damn snowshoes?
