Elbe: Kayaking Summer

The Elbe has its origin in the Czech Republic, near the Polish border. From there it flows in an arc through the Czech Republic and reaches after 356.6 km Saxony. On its way across Germany, the Elbe then passes through Dresden, Magdeburg and Hamburg until it finally flows into the North Sea near Cuxhaven. Overall, the Elbe comes to a total length of about 1,000 km. In the international ranking, the Elbe is thus number fourteen of the longest rivers in Europe. Globally, it is one of the 200 longest rivers in the world.

Die Elbe hat ihren Ursprung in Tschechien, nahe der polnischen Grenze. Von dort aus fließt sie in einem Bogen durch Tschechien und erreicht nach 356.6 km Sachsen. Auf ihrem Weg quer durch Deutschland passiert die Elbe anschließend u.a Dresden, Magdeburg und Hamburg bis sie schließlich bei Cuxhaven in die Nordsee mündet. Insgesamt kommt die Elbe so auf eine Gesamtlänge von rund 1.000 km. Im internationalem Ranking ist die Elbe damit Nummer vierzehn der längsten Flüsse Europas. Global gesehen gehört sie zu den 200 längsten Flüssen der Erde.

Since 1998 he rides his bicycle. Whether Asia, Africa, America, Europe or Australia – he has travelled almost all continents by bike. Hardly surprising that “Else”, the bicycle of his first tours around the globe, is not in the cellar, but hangs in the living room.

Donau bis ans Schwarze Meer: Kajak Sommer

Die Donau ist mit einer Gesamtlänge von 2857 Kilometern der zweitlängste Fluss Europas. Sie entspringt im Süden Deutschlands und fließt dann Richtung Osten über Wien, Budapest und Belgrad bis ins Schwarze Meer. Insgesamt durchfließt die Donau die zehn Länder Deutschland, Österreich, Slowakei, Ungarn, Kroatien, Serbien, Bulgarien, Rumänien, Moldawien und Ukraine, so viele, wie kein anderer Fluss auf der Erde! Für mich ein Reisetraum!

Danube to the Black Sea: Kayaking Summer

The Danube is the second longest river in Europe with a total length of 2857 kilometres. It rises in the south of Germany and then flows east across Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade to the Black Sea. In total, the Danube flows through ten countries (Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and the Ukraine) – more than any other river on earth! For me a true traveller dream!
