Corsica: Microcamper Summer (Travel Journal)

Day 9

Today I wake up to freshly picked blackberries in the rooftop tent. It’s a good way to start the day. Already supplied with vitamins, I decide to do a little training in the pleasant morning temperature. This is all the easier to manage because I know that a cool-down awaits me right afterwards. So I work off my short but intense interval training and have a swim afterwards.
My advice, however, is that training only makes sense in very warm temperatures if you are in training and pre-trained. If you think you are going to start exercising in the heat, you are not doing yourself any good. The body and especially the circulatory system are already struggling with a change of habits. If temperatures of more than 25°C are added to the equation, the body becomes exhausted more quickly and needs a longer time to recover. My tip: training should be built up slowly and regularly at moderate temperatures.
We spend the rest of the sunny day bathing, swimming and paddling in the later hours and getting some information about the island.
