Corsica: Microcamper Summer (Travel Journal)

Day 6

We find a nice off-road camping spot and spend the night there. It’s right by the sea, so it was a breeze to quickly slip into our swimsuits and get into the refreshing water. Here I feel the power of the waves, which almost pull my legs off. As they crash off the rocks, they reflect, driving my legs into the sea. It feels so strong and on slippery ground I can barely hold on.
In Corsica, besides sandy and rocky beaches, there are also many places from where you walk into the sea from larger rocks. In that case, entering the water is not as smooth as on the sandy beaches, but that didn’t cause any problems. The rocks are covered with water plants and we even glimpse a small reef. So we grab our diving goggles for the second swim and take a look around underwater. Looking under the water surface opens up a new world! We can see more clearly what is growing on the rocks, what the underwater plants look like and we discover how many fish were around us. If you hold your breath a little longer, you can watch the fish swimming and searching for food. There is something to discover everywhere. A real highlight!
In the evening sun we prepare a delicious meal with fried egg and salad. A Corsican wine rounded off the dinner.
Around us there are larger and smaller rock formations. Christian discovers one that is shaped like a cave and offers us a nice place to sleep.
