Corsica: Microcamper Summer (Travel Journal)

Day 5

After a good night’s sleep, we use the morning to recharge our solar batteries. At temperatures of over 30°C, the fridge has to cool down a lot and the battery is very drained. We are grateful for every good opportunity to recharge our batteries.
In the early afternoon we pack our things and head for a lookout point. This offers a panoramic view. There are many lizards and grasshoppers to observe.
Nearby is a climbing spot: Monte Canarincu. There are also routes in my level of difficulty. When it comes to climbing, I still have a lot of room for improvement.
I have chosen the area in advance. The only problem is that I understood the wall to be facing east with the designation “O”. However, this abbreviation in the climbing guidebook stands for west and the sun is shining directly on the wall. “Great! I’ve picked that out well,” are my ironic thoughts. Well. Despite the sun, we take the not-too-long hike and take a look at the rock. Even though the sun’s rays heat us up well, we don’t let them stop us from climbing. To cool down a bit, we put a piece of soaked clothing under our helmets. It’s fun to climb on the limestone and the slight disappointment of the day before is gone.
