Corsica: Microcamper Summer (Travel Journal)

Day 4

We were woken by the warm rays of the morning sun. With the kayak assembled, we make our way to the beach in the bay of Anse d’Aliso. Fortunately, there is a parking lot right by the water and we only have to carry the folding boat about 150 metres.
Christian paddles in the bay in the blazing midday sun. Some waves even allow for a short surf. However, it can almost only be endured with a soggy hat on your head to cool down. I also get a taste of what it’s like to surf small waves and how the kayak moves with the waves. However, I don’t have my hat on and have to get some shade after a short while. Of course, with the mild water temperatures, we are not only in the kayak, but also in the water.
Then the plan is to head for a climbing area. We set off and want to take a short break to strengthen ourselves. Arriving at the parking lot, we unpack food and drink. As we bite into our bread, we are stopped. The owner of the site kindly informs us that only parking is allowed here, but not eating and drinking. So we have no choice but to put everything back and look for another resting place.
We look around on the map for an off-road parking space. Christian quickly finds a nice one where we can even stand alone.
Admittedly, I am a little disappointed that we didn’t climb. But there are still more climbing areas ahead of us. We end the evening with a glass of wine and the chirping of the crickets.
