Day 3

The ferry should leave the harbour at 8 am that morning. For a smooth process, we get up at 5:30 am and luckily we have a short distance to the ship. We set off 45 minutes late. We are on the Mediterranean for 4 hours before we reach the port of Bastia and Corsica greets us with warm sunshine. As it turns out, it will be with us for almost the entire holiday. We look for a shady spot to plan the rest of our journey for today. We decide on a beach near Tomino. The access road there is limited by a 2-metre mark. With the roof tent and roof box on the car, we can only just pass under it with a slight bump and get directly to the sea. Cooling down is urgently needed. We put on our swimsuits in no time and are quickly in the warm salty water. The beach is a good place to spend the afternoon. As evening slowly approaches, we drive further north to a place for the night recommended by Nico, which is supposed to offer us a great view. And so it is. A rather remote site offers a wonderful view with mountains and sea. An ideal place to end the evening with freshly cooked spaghetti. When it is dark, we decide to take a little night bath under the starry sky. The still warm air allows us to be outside in pleasant temperatures until the late hours.
