Corsica: Microcamper Summer (Travel Journal)

Day 2

To get to Italy, as Livorno is the ferry’s departure point, we use the Brenner motorway to make faster progress. To avoid the heavy traffic, the wake-up call rang early in the morning and we set off. With a digital vignette, which we organised the night before, we don’t have to queue anywhere and drive through without any problems. As we are very well on time, we make a stopover in Verona. We want to stretch our legs and walk around the city a bit. As you may know, there is the Casa de Giulietta, the House of Juliet. Based on William Shakespeare’s story of Romeo and Juliet, you can admire and walk on the balcony in this Italian place. However, the queue in front of it is so long that we decide against a visit and opt for an original Italian ice cream. That has a higher cooling factor in any case.
Afterwards we drive on to Livorno to a car park directly at the harbour. Ideal for an overnight stay, especially when the ferry leaves early in the morning. We pitch our roof tent among several motorhomes and vans and go to sleep not too late.
