Day 15

Our ferry is scheduled to leave at 2 pm. Until then we can have breakfast at our sleeping place and even have a visitor. A young dog from the surrounding area keeps us company. We show him our hospitality and give him some fresh water. It is quite warm again and he accepts our offer.
After packing up, we arrive at the harbour at 11 am, right on time. There we meet other people from Germany and have a short chat with them. An hour later the entrances to the car park opens, where we wait in the sun for another hour before the gates to the ferry open. At such moments it is a comfort to know that we have enough drinking water with us and can supply ourselves independently.
The crossing takes about four hours, which can be endured very well in air-conditioned rooms. During the crossing we write down some notes about the journey.
After 6 p.m. we arrive at the port of Livorno and we head north to Pian di Venola, where we spend the night in a spacious spot.
